  • Be nice to see Clemson play a decent team during the season where they lose the comfort they have had in recent years of being able to sit their starters a lil bit after halftime. The SEC + Texas and Oklahoma supplied 25% of the players in the NFL draft. It is being suggested (Barstool Sports) that Ohio State and Michigan are in talks also w/ SEC .... at that point, might as well make Division II become III and the rest of Division I would be Division II.

  • I love how ignorant people like to blame the state of college athletics on the NCAA....the schools are the NCAA, They are on these committees, write the rules, vote on stuff, etc,,,, They just like to pretend it's the evil NCAA...amorphous people. It's like the NFL when people hate Godell, he hired and paid 50M yr to do all the stuff the owners want as the public face, to take the barbs, while the owners hide in the shadows. The NCAA is the same, they do the bidding of the athletic directors & presidents of the big schools, take the heat so they can hide in the shadows & say all the things you hate it's the NCAA...btw, we the schools are the NCAA

  • Texas has destroyed every conference they've joined. They will do the same to the SEC. Don't think so? You're naive. It will happen when Texas manages to convince the Disney people that they deserve a larger cut of revenue because of what they bring to the table. They already did that once with the LHN. When that happens, the Alabamas of the old SEC will be incensed, but ultimately they'll be powerless to stop it. Demographics favor Texas, given that there are counties in the state with more TV sets than the entire state of Alabama. Alabama is big on the field, but they're an underdog in the rest of life. Plus, Austin is the capitol of Woke America, so the media conglomerates will favor them much more so than anyone in red county like AL, MS, or LA. So what will happen 15 years from now is that Alabama will realize they're getting a raw deal and walk with the original SEC teams and leave Texas, OU, A&M, Arkansas, etc to form a new Southwest Conference. Book it.

  • I can't believe how many people have commented trying to claim that the word Heather was looking for was "disintegrate" or "disintegration" in this case. THAT IS NOT THE WORD SHE WAS TRYING TO USE! You guys seem to know as little about the English language as Heather does! The word she was looking for is "dissolution". "It would probably lead to the DISSOLUTION of the Big 12." "Dissolution" means "the closing down or dismissal of an assembly, partnership, or official body", and it is the noun form of "dissolve". That is exactly what will happen to the Big 12 when Texas and Oklahoma move to the SEC...the Big 12 will be "dissolved" not "disintegrated".

  • The University of Texas is a cancerous program and kills conferences. Look what they did to the Southwestern Conference (SWC) and the Big XII. They held the Big XII ransom so they could have their own TV deal. They also used their position to prevent other schools, like the University of Houston from joining the Big XII because it would hurt their recruiting. They basically made the Big XII do their bidding, and now that they can't get any more use out of them, they are bailing and will destroy the conference. UT ridiculed Texas A&M for leaving the Big XII and said they would become a laughing stock in the SEC. Now they want to join the SEC? Have some pride UT. Stick with your longhorns network, which is losing money, and the conference that you destroyed. Don't go to another conference and ruin it.

  • TX and OU are NOT staying until 2025 and the rest of the Big-12 knows this. The planning that went into this move did not, at all, intend on staying until 2025 or paying an $80 Million buyout. You can take that to the bank. Speaking of which, the penalty for leaving before 2025 is $80 million. Keep an eye on that number. When TAMU and Missouri departed they only had to pay 58% of the actual penalty costs thereby establishing a precedent for conference members departing the Big-12 for the SEC. If it goes to court, and it will, that $80 Million will drop to $46,400,000.00 which is 58% of $80 Million. I think TX/OU would recoup that in their first year of the SEC!

  • UCF isn't going anywhere without USF and vice versa. It'd be like Texas or Oklahoma leaving the other behind. Funnily enough, both schools tried to get into the Big 12 a few years back but were abruptly denied. The Big 12 could extend an olive branch, but they likely aren't interested anymore. UCF/USF want into a power conference, and without Texas and OU I'm not so sure the Big 12 would be one anymore. Might as well just stick with the AAC at that point.
